This week marks the 5th week of the “Stay at Home“ order in my state. I have several thoughts, opinions, and feelings about the idea of the order, but one of things I am “happy” about is the idea of taking one day at a time.
I looked back at my calendar at all the different events and meetings that I had and thought that seems like a lifetime ago. Oddly enough the day or two that the virus was announced in Washington, I attended events coming into contact with thousands of people.
Either socially or professionally, I’ve gotten used to so many “places to go” and “people to see.”
But I have to admit, I needed to slow down. Suppose we all did.
What I do not agree with, however, is this whole forced to isolate and keep your distance as the “new normal”. That is actually unnatural for humans to stay apart. We are social beings. Tactile. Communicative. Our entire purpose is to relate.
Ultimately, if this situation is permanent, the isolation may do us all in - not this virus.
